Sound familiar?

Most of our clients come to us when one of these lands on their desk.

An employee can't claim UIFbecause the business was never registered on uFiling, or the declarations and UI-19 are missing.

A client wants your Letter of Good Standingby Friday, and your Compensation Fund Return of Earnings is outstanding.

SARS penaltiesbecause an EMP201 was late, or the EMP501 doesn't balance with the IRP5s.

You need to let someone goand you don't want it to end up at the CCMA.

We sort it out, and then we keep it sorted every month. Get it sorted

The deadlines we watch

The dates and numbers we keep track of for you

7th

EMP201: PAYE, UIF and SDL submitted and paid to SARS by the 7th of every month.

1% + 1%

UIF: the employer and the employee each contribute 1% of the employee's pay.

2× a year

EMP501 reconciliations: an interim one and an annual one at the end of the tax year.

24 hrs

Staff who work more than 24 hours a month must be declared for UIF.

South African legal requirements (SARS and the Department of Employment and Labour), not company statistics.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

Have a different question? Ask us

Which areas do you serve?

We work with businesses across South Africa. Most work is done remotely, by e-mail and WhatsApp, so it doesn't matter where you are.

How much do your services cost?

Pricing depends on what you need and how many employees you have. Contact us for a personalised quote; you'll get it before any work starts.

Can you handle everything in one place?

Yes. Many clients use us for payroll, UIF and the Compensation Fund together, so the numbers match and nothing falls through the cracks.

Is my employees' information safe?

Yes. We treat all client and employee information as confidential and handle it in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What is uFiling?

uFiling is the Department of Employment and Labour's online system for the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF). Employers use it to register, declare their employees every month and manage UIF matters.

Do I need to register for COIDA?

Yes. Under the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act, employers with employees must register with the Compensation Fund (or, in some industries, with a licensed mutual association such as Rand Mutual).

When is the EMP201 due?

The EMP201 must be submitted and paid to SARS by the 7th of the following month, or the last business day before that if the 7th falls on a weekend or public holiday.

Do I need written employment contracts?

The Basic Conditions of Employment Act requires employers to give employees written particulars of employment when they start. A proper contract also protects you if there's ever a dispute.

What must I give an employee who leaves?

At a minimum: their final pay (including any leave owed), a Certificate of Service, and the UI-19 so they can claim UIF. We prepare all three.
